This is a 11″ x 11″ leather bound flushmount with fine art paper. I pretty much exclusively sell these babies nowadays as the beautiful matt pages seem to steal everyone’s heart. The albums come in thick or thin pages (more about this later) with a choice of leather or fabric cover. A photo strip (as pictured) or embossing could be added to add a personal touch. All my albums lay flat so nothing is lost in between the gutter – this means you could have that awesome photo of you looking gorgeous spread across 2 pages.

While I was at it I decided to photograph my new sample albums too, a 10″ x 10″ with thick fine art pages and an oh-so-cute 4″ x 4″ with thin fine art pages, both fabric bound. I offer the mini album as an add on to the main album (must be a clone of its big brother) and it has proven very popular – they are so tiny and cute and fit into any purse!

Both (white) albums are 46 pages thick so you could see the difference the pages makes to the overall thickness (the red album is 50 pages thick). The maximum number of pages for the fine art storybook (thin pages) is 90 pages while the fine art album (thick pages) could accommodate up to 50 pages.

You could emboss practically anything on the cover in black, white, silver, gold or blind. If you use a specific font for your wedding just let me know and I can match it like what I’ve done here.

The thing with albums is that they are best viewed in person, where you could hold & feel them – and if you’re like me, oggle at them. So if you want to check out these beauties just drop me a line, they love being the center of attention!

Preston Court provided the perfect backdrop, the outdoor ceremony on Juliana’s Island, fizz & frolicks on the lawn, vintage trains and gypsy caravan for photo backdrop, and one of the funkiest barns ever for the reception. The little details Hsiu Lye & Nick organised really took center stage as guests had fun with the piñata, the outdoor photo booth and some karaoke for the evening entertainment. But what really made this wedding was the people, I love it when I get to capture the special little moments and this wedding made my job easy! So without further ado…

Don’t you just love technology? Friends who couldn’t be there could join in on the excitement too. FaceTime = win!

Chloe & Emma wanted a girly vintage afternoon tea party for their wedding and a beautiful tea party was had. Chloe looked beautiful in a pink accented 50s dress and Emma looked stunning in her 30s siren dress. The amazing decor was styled by the lovely Maryanne from Jam and Tea - the team transformed Orleans House Gallery into a vintage inspired, quintessentially English, candy-coloured wonderland! Everything from gin & tonic, fizzy and cranberry gin was served in beautiful tea cups and saucers – and more sandwiches, cakes and sweets on pretty platters than you could poke a stick at (and I can vouch for the yumminess of them all, nom nom…)

Chloe & Emma also went for my instant photo booth package but, in keeping with the theme of the day, had a combination of props from myself & Jam and Tea. It went down a storm and everyone had so much fun being silly – exactly the reason why I love photo booths at weddings (a huge thanks to Kat who helped me out with the photo booth)!

Laura & Dan are having a very urban wedding next month, coming from a graphic design background I think their wedding is bound to be a little bit gorgeous – can you tell I’m excited?!

Another interesting piece of trivia, Laura & Dan have been together for 15 years! Holy Moly – yeah I had to do the math in my head too as they look so young! Childhood sweethearts FTW.

Mimi & Ben’s wedding will be awesome. How do I know? Because they are awesome, they have awesome taste, and they were referred to me by their awesome friends – Rhian & Toan. Enuff said.

So without further ado… introducing: Mimi & Ben, spring sunshine and ice cream!

With the word vintage inspired wedding being thrown around so much these days it is easy to dismiss it as a “trend” or “fad”, but for people who have genuine love of the bygone era, it is only apt if the wedding reflects the personality. Imogen & Tom’s wedding was a reflection of things they love surrounded by people they love, it wasn’t fussy or over-styled, just timelessly beautiful.

I had a few Joanne Fleming brides last year and I really love the idea of having a bespoke wedding dress made - a lovely personal touch. Imogen completed the look with a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes – and also went prepared for the British weather with a pair of red wellies (and it did rain for a bit!). The bridesmaids wore their own choice of dresses in different shades of blue – gotta love the mismatched bridal party look!

The wedding was held at Walcot Hall in Shropshire and what a beautiful venue it is. Upon arrival I was greeted by a couple of ponies and a herd of deer, great start to the day! The venue is rather vast so while we covered a lot of ground during the couple shots, there was much more I would’ve loved to explore. My fave spot would be their “honeymoon suite”, in the form of a chapel in the woods! It is unbelievably cute and so incredibly private, tucked away 500 yards from the venue and accessible only on foot.

The day was simply beautiful, I’ll shut up now and let you get immersed in their love story through the pics instead…

Early last year, I received a particular awesome piece of news: my baby sister was engaged – kapow!

One of the first things she asked me was if I would be their wedding photographer as they both love my photos. Now, I love my sister dearly and as much as I love my job I wanted to experience the day as her sister, not her photographer – so I politely declined and offered help in finding an awesome photographer if needed. Turns out she didn’t need my help. While browsing one of her regular blogs – Polka Dot Bride – she came across Julian Beattie who’s not only talented but, as I got to know him later, also super awesome. As a compromise I agreed to shoot their pre-wedding photos (blog post to follow) and capture her getting ready so Julian could photograph the groom (who got ready miles away!) in the morning.

So this blog post is a bit of an indulgent one, it’s one that let me relive the day my sister got married (hence there will be more narrative than usual), from the morning of the wedding to the bits and pieces I captured throughout the day – things I personally wanted to remember the day by. So here goes…

The night before the wedding the 2 of us stayed at the wonderful The Blackman hotel which is part of the Art Series Hotels. I can’t recommend the place enough – creative, stylish and the nicest bunch of staff ever! It’s also where we found the “wedding transport” in the form of a Smart car (more later). The (coca cola) earrings above were a surprise gift from moi the night before.

Taking photos and trying to get ready at the same time was HARD! I took a little break to get dress and do my hair – here is an iPhone pic of what I looked like…

Now back to the bride…

Good to go – only slightly fashionably late… into the Smart car we went and I drove the bride-to-be to the Arcadia Hotel where the ceremony was held. For obvious reasons I don’t have any ceremony photos to share with you (I was there at the front!) – head to Julian’s blog if you’re curious!

After the ceremony we went back to The Blackman to get Julie out of the veil and into the flower crown. The staff was so sweet to let us into the penthouse suite for some piccies – I really need to get rich so I can stay there one day, simply divine. I sneaked in a few shots before taking off to the reception venue.

The reception! This is where all the blood, sweat and tears of everyone involved over the last few months paid off (I was in Melbourne a month before the wedding to help out with all the DIY – Julie called me her art director). I am obviously biased but wouldn’t you agree it looked divine? A funfair affair indeed.

All the sweets and cake are made and put together by Julie’s friends – talents!

Beat this: the bride & groom entered the reception venue (which is a garage converted into an Indonesian cafe) in the aforementioned Smart car (complete with thumping music, of course) – you likey the moustache I made for it?

Summer of 2011 was awesome & crazy at the same time, and I realised I haven’t been blogging some of my favourite weddings because I was worried I wouldn’t do them justice in the madness of wedding season. It’s never too late to start so here goes…

I love the friendships I gain from my job and Rhian & Toan are two very special people. It’s not just how relaxed and easy-going they are or how much joy & happiness emanate from them, you can tell they are just made for each other (which makes the necklace Rhian wore on the day even more apt – it’s a peapod, cos they’re two peas in a pod!).

And just like them, their wedding was really special – it was truly a labour of love, all the details are DIY-ed by Rhian & Toan and their family and the day was one big celebration of love & laughter. I was a DIY bride myself so I know how much time & effort goes into planning one, and most things you see here were handmade – I hope this weddings provides some ideas and inspirations for all you future brides.

Of course a great wedding does not a great marriage make, but Rhian & Toan are truly a “happy couple”, I dare you to look through these images and not smile once!

One of the most comical moments of my photography career… the cows decided to do what the birds and the bees do (check out Rhian’s expression when she spotted it LOL), they then got spooked as we walked closer and crossed the road, but no… mister bull couldn’t even wait till he got over to the other side of the street to carry on! Priceless.

Who says you can’t have fun outdoor in winter? Jaime & Steve came out for their engagement session in the park just a few week before Christmas and fun was definitely had by all. Can’t wait to shoot your wedding in April, guys! x
